This section is intended to keep the lake community informed with timely updates, including lake association meeting minutes, community announcements, and other important news as it arises.

As the website continues to grow, this page will evolve along with it—serving as a go-to source for current lake information.

One of the biggest challenges on Staples Lake each summer is keeping up with weed harvesting—and we're looking for a few more volunteers to help!

Our goal is to become more proactive with weed harvesting, especially earlier in the May and June timeframe. With more volunteers, we can schedule harvesting more efficiently, cover more areas of the lake, and help keep the water clear for everyone to enjoy throughout the season.

We're looking for volunteers to help with:

• Harvester Operators – Cut and collect weeds on the lake.
• Tractor Drivers – Help unload and haul weed loads from the boat landing.

No experience is necessary. Both roles are easy to learn, and when we have two-person crews, the entire process runs much more efficiently.

Interested in helping? 

• Bill Harding will be offering hands-on training Tuesday, July 14 through Thursday, July 16, and can also arrange another time if those dates don't work.

What a fantastic way to celebrate America's 250th birthday! We had an incredible turnout with nearly 40 pontoons, boats, kayaks, and other watercraft in this year's parade.

3rd: Redneck Yacht Club

The Flotilla was another great success, with lots of laughs, floaties, snacks, belly-flop contests, and plenty of time spent with family, friends, and neighbors. It was great to see our lake community come together and celebrate together.

Mother Nature threw us a little rain, but thankfully it passed and the fireworks still went on!

A huge thank you to Aaron Brown and everyone who helped make the fireworks display possible. So much time goes into planning, preparing, setting up, and safely producing a show like this. It's a tremendous amount of work behind the scenes, and Aaron, along with his family and friends, volunteered their time to give all of us an amazing way to end the day. We truly appreciate everything they did to make this tradition possible.
